Day 1; Arrival at Kigali Airport.

Welcome to Kigali, Rwanda! Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our expert driver guide; you will be briefed about your itinerary and our beautiful Countries. Have lunch in town then after embark on a Kigali city tour, have a visit to the genocide memorial site in Gisozi – Kigali, Richard Kant Museum and the women’s association in Nyamirambo. Later you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 2; Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park.

After breakfast at your hotel, you be transferred to Nyungwe National Park. On the way, take pleasure in the work of Rwanda’s local artists on your visits to the Rwesero Art Museum, originally built as a palace for King Mutara III Rudahigwa, and the National Museum of Butare, which houses a rich collection of traditional Rwandan art, enroute lunch and then proceed to your lodge in the evening for checking in at your hotel

Day 3; Chimpanzee Tracking

Wake up very early in the morning and have a cup of tea or coffee. With your ready-packed breakfast, depart at 04:45 am for transfer to the park offices for briefing about the chimpanzees and the other primates in this forest before entering and searching for the shy chimpanzees and other primates you may encounter by chance. You will return to the hotel for lunch and relax.

Day 4; Unique Nyungwe Canopy walk.

After breakfast, enjoy the chance to view the forest from a canopy walkway. This gives excellent views of one of Africa’s largest temperate rainforests and offers the opportunity to view primates and birds at eye level. Back to the lodge for a refreshing lunch and checkout. You will then be transferred to Kibuye on the shores of the beautiful Lake Kivu. In the afternoon, explore your surroundings by relaxing in and around the lodge, which also has water sports equipment for hire. Return to the lodge for overnight.

Day 5; Kibuye and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

In the morning, after breakfast, check, in and depart from Kibuye to Gisenyi. This offers the chance to explore the beauty of the multiple islands found on Lake Kivu before we go for our lunch, Alternatively, take a private boat cruise of 2 hours from Kibuye to Gisenyi taking in the beauty of the lake and have the chance to visit the islands offshore and view the wide diversity of birdlife on the lake and drive to Volcanoes National Park. The drive takes you 1.5 hours from Gisenyi. Check-in for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5; Mountain Gorilla Trek.

After breakfast, we take a short drive to Park Headquarters and meet with excellent and well-informed local guides who keep in touch with the advanced group (trackers). The guides will give a talk on the etiquette of gorilla tracking based on their excellent experience with gorillas. We then hike into the forest to where the gorillas were seen the night before and track from that point with the communication of the advanced group. The trek can take from 1 to 6 hours and climb to altitudes not more than 7,500 feet. The terrain is rough and at times muddy. Although the hike is physically demanding, the beauty of the forest and surrounding scenery make the trekking worthwhile and spectacular. Once the gorillas are located, all fatigue is forgotten, as the experience is often described as being the most profound natural history experience in the world. Remember to hire a porter to help you carry your backpack or bag, as well as give you a hand during hiking where possible. Most treks finish in time to return for Lunch and overnight at your Lodge.

Day 6; Golden Monkey Trekking and Community Experience.

This morning we have the opportunity to explore Volcanoes National Park in search of the rare golden monkeys a fully habituated group of the beautiful Primates lives in the park and this is one of the only places in Africa where you can find such great close and friendly Golden Monkeys. Return to your lodge for lunch and refreshments, in the afternoon visit the Iby’wachu Cultural Center. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7; Volcanoes to Bwindi – Uganda

After your early breakfast you will embark on your safari vehicle ready for a long Journey with your packed lunches, en route you will have your lunch via the only world heritage impenetrable in the world where you are likely to have a chance to see some primates on the way alongside the road and other animals as you proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8 Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park.

After an early morning breakfast, you will have another chance to explore more about the Gorillas. This experience is always new whenever done. Bwindi Impenetrable is a thick forest just like the name describes, the tracking experience will be different from the first one you did in Rwanda. After, return to the lodge for lunch and refreshment. In the afternoon, drive to an orphanage for a humanitarian visit, where we will be given the background of the orphanage together with their good deeds and experience their hospitality and entertainment. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 10 Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After your breakfast, you will take a guided Batwa experience, which is an ideal short walk. This trail leads to three delightful crystal-clear waterfalls, and there is a profusion of Tree ferns, Epiphytic Ferns, Orchids and Bwindi colorful array of butterflies, expect to see birds and other primates in the forest. Return to the tour vehicle as you will be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park, have a short game drive and return to your Safari Lodge for an overnight stay.

Day 11; Game drive and Kazinga Channel.

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred for a game drive with your bags and packed lunch, on this gave drive in this sector expect to see climbing lions in fig trees, elephants, hippos, Uganda cobs, and water backs to but a few relax into the lunch hour and after lunch en-route for a three-hour boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos and many animals can be seen drinking at the water’s edge. This gives you a great opportunity for photography, bird watching and game viewing. Dinner and overnight stay at Safari Lodge.

Day 12; Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.

Early morning, after breakfast, check out later you will be picked up by your guide who will transfer you to Kibale Forest National Park via Fort Portal. Visit the Fort Portal town in the afternoon and also visit the Toro King’s Place. Proceed to Kibale for check-in at your Lodge. Dinner and overnight at Safari Lodge.

Day 13 Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Nature Walk.

After breakfast, you will set out for chimp tracking within the Kibale Forest. During your search, expect to see a lot of primate species like chimpanzees, monkeys and other animals like forest elephants, buffaloes, leopards, bush pigs and duiker, lions, warthogs, reptiles and amphibians as well as a colourful variety of butterflies. Return to the Lodge for lunch.

After lunch go for a nature walk and birding in the Bigodi swamp area and look out for most of the water-loving bird species. The forest /Park has almost 335 species of birds and therefore a good place for birders. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Safari Lodge.

Day 14; Drive back to Kigali.

Early morning, you will return to Kigali reaching in the evening to catch your flight back or hotel.
